WhatsApp has introduced various new measures to offer users more privacy, and security to help keep their private information safe
WhatsApp recently introduced several new updates to offer more flexibility to users in terms of safeguarding their profile. Now, users can also select who in their contact list gets to see their profile picture, about and last seen status. Earlier, this option was not available for contacts. “To further protect your privacy online, we’re rolling out new options to your privacy control settings. Now you can select who from your contact list can see your Profile Photo, About, and Last Seen status,” said the Facebook owned platform in a tweet.
Safety and security Features Being Offered by WhatsApp
Users can adjust their privacy settings to control who sees information. Users can set their last seen, profile photo, about, or status to the following options:
- Everyone: Last seen, profile photo, about, or status will be available to all WhatsApp users.
- My Contacts: Last seen, profile photo, about, or status will be available to contacts from the address book only.
- My Contacts Except: Last seen, profile photo, about, or status will be available to contacts from the address book, except those users exclude.
- Nobody: Last seen, profile photo, about, or status won't be available to anyone.
WhatsApp Group Call Updates
WhatsApp has also introduced new updates to group calls. Users can now do the following in group calls:
- Mute others.
- Message specific people.
- See a banner when someone joins offscreen.
