WhatsApp promises that this new development will empower users with greater control over their conversations and heighten privacy.

The messaging platform has been making continuous efforts to refine its user experience and enhance the security of the platform. With all the points under consideration, WhatsApp is about to introduce the "Secret Code' feature. This feature is currently under the testing phase and has been spotted on WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.23.21.9. It can be only accessed by the users enrolled in WhatsApp's beta testing program by downloading the beta version from the Google Play Store.

The secret code feature is designed to provide users with elevated privacy options. They will be able to set a customized password for their protected chat folders. The feature allows users to establish a personalized password to lock their chats and add an extra layer of security.

One of the key highlights of this feature is that it is equally compatible with the linked devices. Till now, WhatsApp users are able to secure their chats using biometrics or PIN codes on their primary devices. But, after the induction of this feature, they will be able to extend this security to secondary devices.

Although the development looks exciting it has to be noted that it is still in the developmental phase and is not yet accessible to all users. WhatsApp is likely to conduct thorough testing before deploying this feature to the stable version of the app.

As WhatsApp continues to innovate and emphasize user privacy and security the introduction of the 'Secret Code' feature represents yet another significant move in the right direction. Now, WhatsApp users can anticipate heightened control over their chats, even on linked devices once this feature becomes widely available for all.
