As data analytics is becoming a top priority for organizations, basic data skills are becoming indispensable for a wider set of roles within an organization
Udacity, a lifelong learning platform, which focuses on democratizing education to make it more affordable and accessible for people around the world, announced the launch of its Udacity Data Challenge. With the challenge, the company is primarily targeting students and working professionals who are data mavericks in their own right.
To participate in the challenge, candidates need to enroll for one of the three Nanodegree courses, namely, Data Foundations Nanodegree Certification and Data Analytics Nanodegree certification (Term 1 and 2) before the 12th of September. Post which, the candidate needs to complete the Nanodegree over a 3 month period and participate in the online data challenge held after that, on the 15th of January. Winners will be selected based on their performance in the challenge and receive prizes.
Speaking on the launch of Udacity Data Challenge, Ishan Gupta, Managing Director - Udacity, commented, “Today, data is everywhere and it permeates our increasingly interconnected beings. This online competition is our endeavor to bring together all the Data mavericks on one platform in order to explore the complex data problems and find most meaningful insights that can make a larger impact. Whoever, manages to derive breakthrough insights from their collected and analyzed data, will stand a chance to win exciting prizes. We will be announcing the winners’ within 7 days of the challenge completion and they will be selected basis their Data Challenge Rankings.”
“Among the winners, the top 3 students will be entitled as “Udacity Data Expert”, top 10 students will receive 100% fee refund, top 30 will gain access to intensive interview preparation with top Data experts through live sessions.”, he added.
The candidates who are undergoing these programs will get a chance to learn about advanced data skills such as Python, SQL, TABLEAU, and more with personalized feedback from experts, learn to code in Python and apply statistical techniques to practical problems. They would also learn to manipulate and prepare data for analysis, create visualization for data exploration and tell stories with data.
Candidates will be able to discover as to why data driven solutions are more effective and learn to collect, organize and analyse data efficiently. Candidates will be able to gain a myriad number of skills which would in turn help them in their career advancement.
