The Mumbai-based Trade Association of Information Technology (TAIT), the premier association of IT companies, recently organized the Acer TAIT IT Cup 2017 for their partners, at the Khalsa College Ground, Matunga. The tournament was sponsored by Acer and supported with player's kit by Acer and IDFC Bank.
The tournament was inaugurated by Sarwadeep Bhatia from ACER West, Regional Head. Overall eight teams participated in the four over match series. The match had two groups of four teams each. Group A comprised of Aarvee Achievers, BlueCom Thunder Bulls, Sound Super kings, Twinkle Royals while Group B comprised of Creative United, Network Heroes, Pacific Warriors, Savex Champions. Each team played with the other three teams in a round-robin format. The top 2 teams from each group qualified for the Semi Finals. Each team had two TAIT members, one vendor member and others as full time staff in their teams. This uniquely designed format ensured a maximum networking.
Rushabh Shah, President, TAIT said, "TAIT has always put in immense efforts to provide a platform for the members for networking. And our partners have always appreciated our various in initiatives taken in welfare of the members. The tournament was a great example of camaraderie."
The final match was played between Twinkle Royal and Sound Super Kings. Twinkle Royal made 27 runs in 4 overs by losing 5 wickets. Sound Super kings made 29 runs in 3.1 overs and sound Super Kings won by 9 wickets and Man of the series was given to Akshay - Sound Super Kings for his all-round performance with batting and bowling.
Samir Mehta General Secretary TAIT said, "We put in lot of effort to successfully execute each and every event. Our idea of conducting the tournament is to bring our members and channel partners together through the medium of everyone's favorite sport. We strongly believe these engagements resonate closely with our work philosophy."
The event was successfully organised by the committee comprising of Rahul Javeri, Rushabh Shah, Samir Mehta, Parag Shah, Magan Ganglani, Devang Thakore, Samir Parekh, Ajay Parekh, and Girish Rathod who ensured that the matches were driven by clockwork.
