Chatterjee to become Symphony CEO

Symphony Service has appointed Dr Pallab Chatterjee its chief executive, current
chairman of the Board, as its CEO. He will assume responsibilities from Gordon
Brooks. Brooks will continue his commitment to Symphony as vice chairman of
Symphony Services board. In his position as chairman and CEO, Chatterjee will
be responsible for Symphony Services overall strategic direction and execution
as the company.

CN Ram Joins Essar Group



CN Ram, the ex-CIO of HDFC Bank, is the group CIO of Ruia owned Essar Group. Ram
left HDFC Bank in July 2008. He has co-promoted a rural BPO, RuralShores
Business Services, which was acknowledged by Nasscom annual innovation awards.
Vijay Mehra, the erstwhile Group CIO of Essar had left the group late last year
to join Patni Computer Services as the latters EVP and head, global verticals.

Honeywell Elevates MD



Honeywell Automation India has appointed Anant Maheshwari as its MD. Formerly
the MD of ADI, Honeywell Asia Pacific, Maheshwari has over eleven years of
experience in the automation and management consulting industries. He has held
multiple leadership roles at Honeywell since February 2004.

Manpreet Singh has joined as director, technology at Capita. Prior to this, he
worked with Vertex since 2002. Most recently, he was serving as SVP and CTO in
the company. A BPO industry veteran, he also worked with vCustomer before
joining Vertex.

Hughes Joins Excelsoft Board



Mysore based Excelsoft Technologies, a provider of e-learning solutions has
appointed Colin Hughes to its Board of Directors. Currently, Colin Hughes is
director, business and professional, of the UK based Guardian News and Media. He
is also an associate editor of The Guardian. Excelsoft has been working closely
with The Guardian for the past ten years as a development partner. Apart from
creating content management and syndication systems for various products of The
Guardian, Excelsoft has worked on many other projects including front-end
portals and back-end anagement systems.

Atul Jain Joins Samsung



Samsung India, has appointed Atul Jain as VP, sales for its mobile business. In
this role, Jain will be responsible for managing the sales of Samsung mobiles
nationally. He will be reporting directly to Ranjit Yadav, director, mobile &
IT, Samsung India. Jain has handled various sales and marketing roles during his
career spanning over twenty years at Coca Cola, Bharti Airtel, Godfrey Philips,
Jumbo Electronics, etc. His latest stint was with Sistema as director, sales.

Wipro Fraudster Commits Suicide

Anoop Agarwal, an employee allegedly responsible for a $4 mn fraud at Wipro, is
believed to have committed suicide. Agarwal ended his life, when Wipros audit
committee was to meet for discussing the fallout from the fraud. Agarwal had
been working with the company for the past three years in the controllership
division within the finance department, which has been disbanded following the
fraud. Earlier Wipro would not file a formal complaint against the employee,
whose identity was not revealed, in the Rs 18 crore ($4 mn) fraud.

Aurigo Names Goel as VP



Aurigo Software Technologies has announced the appointment of Navin Goel as the
vice president, engineering. In his new role Navin would collaborate with the
management team and create a strategic product and an engineering roadmap. He
would also use his business knowledge and customer first attitude to complement
the growing solution delivery team and help the business acquire and support the
customer base.

Steve Jobs Official Biography

An official biography of Steve Jobs is in the offing. According to a New York
Times report, Apples chief executive is set to collaborate on an authorized
biography, to be written by Walter Isaacson, the former managing editor of Time
magazine. The book, which is in the early planning stage, would cover the entire
life of Jobs, from his youth in the area now known as Silicon Valley through his
years at Apple. Considering the fact that Jobs have rarely opened up about his
personal life, the news on the official biography is a big news.

Bhatia New Genpact CFO



Genpact has named Mohit Bhatia as the successor to Vivek Gour, who has decided
to step down as senior vice president and CFO of the company. In his new role,
Bhatia, a Genpact veteran who has been with the company since 1999, will report
to the president and CEO, Pramod Bhasin. To ensure a seamless transition, Gour
will remain at Genpact through April 30, although his resignation is with effect
from March 1, 2010.

HCL AXONs Global Travel Head



HCL AXON, a division of HCL Technologies, has announced the appointment of
Patrick Grubbs as its global head for travel and transportation practice. He
will be responsible for the continued growth of HCL AXONs SAP footprint in the
travel and transportation industry. Patrick will help drive HCL AXONs expansion
through the extension of its service portfolio within its existing global
customer base, while focusing on the acquisition of new strategic customers
across the industry.

GSS Appoints Nuti

GSS America Infotech has announced the appointment of Siva Kumar Nuti as the
senior vice president, global delivery and operations. He has more than two
decades of demonstrated leadership in the software industry in the domestic and
international market. Prior to joining GSS, he was heading the mainframe and
midrange technology practice at HCL in addition to leading global delivery for
healthcare and life sciences segment.

Menon, Gangotra Promoted @ Bharti Airtel



Jai Menon, currently group CIO, Bharti Enterprises, and director, technology &
customer service, Bharti Airtel, will move to the Bharti Group corporate office
as group director, IT. He will provide IT leadership for all businesses of
Bharti Enterprises. Menon will also work closely with the International Business
Group led by Manoj Kohli. Amrita Gangotra will take over as director, IT, Bharti
Airtel, India and South Asia, and will report to Sanjay Kapoor. Gangotra has
been with the organization for more than six years and is currently CIO, Mobile
Services.

Telecordia CTO in Transportation Committee



Dr Adam Drobot, Telecordias CTO and president of its advanced technology
solutions business unit, has been appointed by United States Secretary of
Transportation Ray LaHood to serve in the Intelligent Transportation Systems
Program Advisory Committee (ITSPAC). As a federal advisory committee, the ITSPAC
was established to act in an advisory capacity to the Secretary of
Transportation on all matters related to the study, development and
implementation of intelligent transportation systems.
