Tech Mahindra (NSE: TECHM), a prominent global provider of technology consulting and digital solutions, has announced the launch of a new Center of Excellence (CoE) powered by NVIDIA platforms. This initiative aims to advance sovereign large language models (LLMs), agentic AI, and physical AI technologies.
The CoE utilizes the Tech Mahindra Optimized Framework and incorporates the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software suite—including NVIDIA NeMo, NVIDIA NIM microservices, and NVIDIA RAPIDS—to create customized, enterprise-grade AI applications. These solutions will enable clients to integrate agentic AI, which enhances productivity by allowing AI applications to learn, reason, and take action autonomously. The CoE also employs the NVIDIA Omniverse platform to develop connected industrial AI digital twins and physical AI applications across various sectors, such as manufacturing, automotive, telecommunications, healthcare, and banking.
Empowering Enterprises with Advanced AI Solutions and Customizable Digital Twins
In line with this initiative, Tech Mahindra has developed Project Indus 2.0, an advanced AI model based on Hindi and its dialects, including Bhojpuri, Dogri, and Maithili. This project serves various sectors, including retail, banking, healthcare, and citizen services in India, and aims to enhance Hindi conversations. Future updates for Project Indus 2.0 will introduce agentic workflows and additional dialect support, ensuring a more tailored AI solution for India’s diverse linguistic landscape.
Atul Soneja, Chief Operating Officer of Tech Mahindra, stated, “We are redefining AI innovation at Tech Mahindra. Our collaboration with NVIDIA sets a new standard for enterprise-grade AI development, integrating GenAI, industrial AI, and sovereign LLMs into global enterprises.”
Tech Mahindra will also utilize the new NVIDIA NIM Agent Blueprint for customer service, enabling call center clients to create custom AI virtual assistants that assist human agents in efficiently resolving issues.
John Fanelli, Vice President of Enterprise Software at NVIDIA, commented, “Tech Mahindra’s Center of Excellence, built with NVIDIA technology, will accelerate the development and adoption of sovereign AI LLMs and applications tailored for India’s diverse industries. Our partnership is establishing a foundation for AI-driven innovation regionally and globally.”
Located within Tech Mahindra’s Makers Lab in Pune and Hyderabad, the CoE is a critical step in promoting the mainstream use of GenAI, LLMs, and digital twins, providing innovative solutions for enterprises and end-users.
