At SAP Now, attended by over 2000 delegates, SAP unveiled groundbreaking insights into the symbiotic relationship between sustainability and profitability for Indian organizations, alongside introducing innovative cloud offerings to accelerate growth for scaleups.
The SAP Sustainability Study revealed a resounding 86% of Indian businesses acknowledging a strong link between sustainability and profitability. Paul Marriott, President, SAP Asia Pacific Japan, emphasized India's pivotal role in combating climate change, stating, "India is in a unique position to lead the charge against climate change." Manish Prasad, President, SAP Indian Subcontinent, echoed, "Sustainability is now a business necessity rather than merely a moral duty."
The study also showcased tangible benefits, with 77% of Indian businesses witnessing sustainability strategies contributing to revenue or profit growth. Furthermore, 84% reported increased operational efficiency from sustainability activities. Rajnish Singh, Director of Manufacturing, Projects, and Commercial at Sakata Inx, highlighted, "Our sustainability goals are well aligned with SAP’s philosophy, enabling us to integrate sustainability into business at scale."
However, challenges persist, with 40% of Indian businesses citing the lack of an environmental impact strategy as a barrier. Nevertheless, there is a growing recognition of the importance of sustainability data, with 78% of Indian businesses demanding environmental impact data from partners.
Grow with SAP for Scaleups
In parallel, SAP introduced 'Grow with SAP for Scaleups,' a cloud offering aimed at accelerating innovation for growth-oriented startups. Sanket Deodhar, Vice President & Head of Digital Natives, SAP India, emphasized, "Scaleups are a critical enabler of India’s nation-building efforts."
The offering promises benefits such as enhanced market valuation, faster time to value, streamlined business expansion, and a streamlined 'hire-to-retire' cycle. Ganesh P, CFO of Nykaa, highlighted, "SAP's suite of cloud solutions is poised to be an integral part of this journey."
With SAP's dual focus on sustainability and innovation, Indian businesses are poised to not only thrive in the modern market but also lead the charge towards a more sustainable future.
