As the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has decided to omit Paytm Payments Bank from the authorized FASTag service providers list in India, the users are suggested to attach their FASTags with a new bank account to continue the service.
NHAI decided to remove Paytm from its list of authorized banks for FASTag services amidst regulatory actions being taken against Paytm due to allegations of non-compliance by RBI. Consequently, NHAI has revised its list to include only trusted entities such as Airtel Payments Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, and others.
How to delete the Paytm FASTag account?
Users who are using the services provided by Paytm Payments Bank for their FASTags can follow these steps within the Paytm app to deactivate their accounts.
- Log in to the Paytm application and navigate to the profile icon.
- Select the “Help and Support” option.
- Choose the FASTag option under “Banking Services and Payments”.
- Initiate a deactivation request by selecting the “Chat with us” option.
How to activate an authorized FASTag account?
FASTag users can also purchase a new FASTag by utilizing the My FASTag app. The app is available on both Google Play Store and Apple Store. FASTag users can purchase and activate a new FASTag by following the given steps.
- Login into the MY FASTag app using your phone number and vehicle details.
- Navigate to the “Buy FASTag” option.
- Purchase a new FASTag from authorized.
- Activate the new FASTag by scanning the QR code and following on-screen instructions.
NHAI has set a deadline of 15th March for users to switch from Paytm FASTags to other authorized accounts. Users can ensure a smooth transition to a new FASTag account and experience seamless traveling experience on national highway networks.
