Infosys has announced the expansion of its collaboration with Meta to accelerate innovation in generative AI through open-source technologies. This move sees the Indian technology giant leverage Meta's Llama stack, a suite of open-source large language models (LLMs) and tools, to democratize access to advanced AI technology across industries.
As part of this partnership, Infosys has unveiled a new Meta Center of Excellence (COE), aimed at supporting enterprise AI integration. The center, located at Infosys’ Bengaluru campus, will focus on building talent in Meta’s Llama stack, developing industry-specific AI solutions, and contributing to open-source AI communities. It will also include an AI Experience Zone, where customers can engage with new enterprise AI technologies crafted through this collaboration.
Infosys has been a key partner in the development of Meta's Llama 3.1 and 3.2 models, incorporating them into its Topaz platform—a suite of AI-driven services, solutions, and platforms. The integration has already yielded results, including a document assistant solution powered by Llama models, which is designed to enhance contract review processes, delivering significant productivity gains for businesses.
Balakrishna D. R., Infosys Executive Vice President, Global Services Head of AI and Industry Verticals, emphasised the importance of open-source innovation in driving business growth, noting that the alliance with Meta is crucial in pushing the boundaries of AI technology. Sandhya Devanathan, Meta’s VP and Head of India, hailed the collaboration as an exciting step forward in leveraging AI for digital transformation, stating that Llama models will empower businesses to innovate and scale globally.
The COE will help accelerate the adoption of AI within enterprises and foster greater collaboration between the two companies to shape the future of generative AI technology.
