Infosys has announced an expansion of its collaboration with Microsoft to drive the adoption of generative AI and Microsoft Azure globally. The strategic partnership is aimed at helping customers realise the full value of their technology investments and achieve transformative outcomes across industries.
Building on an already strong relationship, Infosys’ partnership with Microsoft initially focused on integrating GitHub Copilot into its development processes. As an early adopter, Infosys became a top user of the tool, with over 18,000 developers generating more than seven million lines of code. This success has led to the creation of the industry’s first GitHub Centre of Excellence, positioning Infosys as a leader in enterprise AI innovation.
As part of the expanded collaboration, Infosys has been selected as a strategic supplier to support Microsoft’s enterprise customers in managing Cloud and AI workloads. By integrating Microsoft’s generative AI offerings with Infosys’ own solutions, including Infosys Topaz and Infosys Cobalt, the partnership aims to help businesses scale, innovate, and achieve cost-efficiency in key areas.
Key Sectors and Solutions
The expanded scope of this partnership includes tailored solutions for key industries, enhancing customer experiences and streamlining operations:
- Financial Services: Leveraging Infosys’ expertise with Finacle and Microsoft’s AI capabilities to improve engagement, innovation, and operational efficiency in financial institutions.
- Healthcare: Infosys Helix, built on Microsoft Azure, uses AI and machine learning to optimise patient outcomes and improve healthcare access, while reducing operational costs.
- Supply Chain: The combined strengths of Infosys TradeEdge and Azure OpenAI services will help companies optimise processes and enhance agility in supply chain management.
- Telecommunications: With Microsoft’s generative AI and Infosys Live Operations, the partnership will enhance connectivity and customer experiences in the telecom sector.
- Sustainability: Infosys’ Energy Management Solution, aligned with Microsoft’s sustainability initiatives, will help businesses accelerate their journey towards achieving NetZero targets.
Additionally, Infosys’ AI-driven customer engagement platform, Cortex, will integrate Microsoft’s generative AI and Copilot to provide personalised assistance across customer service operations. Many of these solutions will be available on the Azure Marketplace, offering customers access to enhanced capabilities through Microsoft’s Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC).
Responsible AI and Skilling Initiatives
Beyond technology, Infosys and Microsoft are also focused on fostering responsible AI practices. Infosys is a key partner in Microsoft’s Responsible AI Partner Initiative and contributes to the development of ethical AI guidelines through its Responsible AI (RAI) Office. The collaboration also includes initiatives to upskill workforces, ensuring that organisations are well-equipped to adopt and support these emerging technologies.
Anand Swaminathan, Executive Vice President at Infosys, highlighted the potential impact of this collaboration, stating, “Together with Microsoft, we’re offering our clients industry-leading solutions to tackle complex business problems across finance, healthcare, supply chain, and more. This partnership positions us to help companies thrive in the generative AI era.”
Nicole Dezen, Chief Partner Officer at Microsoft, added, “Our partnership with Infosys is transforming industries, elevating business operations, and enabling unprecedented innovation through the power of generative AI.”
As this partnership continues to evolve, Infosys and Microsoft are set to redefine industry standards and accelerate the adoption of enterprise AI solutions, bringing cutting-edge technology to customers worldwide.
