IIT Madras Collaborates with Jharkhand University
IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation has joined hands with the Jharkhand University of Technology and formed a strategic alliance to foster education, innovation, and skill development in deep-tech disciplines. This partnership was formalized through a MoU signed on 5th February 2024.
IIT Madras Pravartak is a Section 8 Company supported by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. It specializes in the Technology Innovation Hub on Sensors, Networking, Actuators, and Control Systems. This is an initiative hosted by IIT Madras and is part of the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems.
The MoU outlines various key initiatives including developing JUT’s Research Park, promoting collaboration between academia and industry, promoting research, innovation, and incubation. Additionally, the partnership will facilitate the exchange of expertise, support for startups, and launch industry-relevant educational programs.
“This MoU will propel the Start-up Ecosystem in Jharkhand for creating the culture of innovation, startups and entrepreneurship. Jharkhand has abundant natural resources and collectively we can improve the economy and quality of technical education of Jharkhand.
This MoU will establish the groundwork for fostering the development of Jharkhand University of Technology's Research Park, facilitating collaboration between academia and industry, promoting research, innovation, and incubation. Together, we aim to contribute to the advancement of Jharkhand and moving towards Viksit Bharat 2047”, said IIT Madras, Professor V. Kamkoti, Director while speaking about this partnership.
The alliance emphasizes nurturing entrepreneurship and fostering a culture of innovation in Jharkhand. Both institutions seek to create a conducive environment for startups to thrive by utilizing their resources and expertise.
