The popular social media platform Facebook, owned by Meta experienced a significant global outage, on Tuesday impacting millions of users worldwide. Users of Facebook encountered difficulties logging in and accessing their Facebook profiles, as well as other platforms owned by the company such as Instagram and WhatsApp.

The issue is being witnessed by both desktop and mobile users. Users are left with an error message saying "An unexpected error occurred. Please try logging in again" as they attempt to access their Facebook accounts.

As per the outrage tracker website, Downdetector, more than 12000 users have reported outrage about the platform, among which 48% of the complaints are related to the app, 43% to login issues, and 9% to the website.
