Ericsson Introduces EricssonEdge Academia Program

This six-month program will equip pre-final year university students with essential skills in 5G, AI, and Cloud technologies through a blend of in-person and online learning.

Ericsson has announced the launch of the EricssonEdge Academia Program, aimed at enhancing early career development for young professionals in the telecommunications sector across Southeast Asia, Oceania, and India.

In light of rapid advancements in 5G, AI, and IoT technologies, and with a growing demand for tech-related roles globally, the program seeks to support emerging talent entering the telecom industry as part of Ericsson’s graduate recruitment efforts in the region.

The EricssonEdge Academia Program will provide pre-final year students from over 40 leading universities in India, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Vietnam with essential knowledge and skills in 5G, Cloud, and AI technologies. Over six months, participants will engage in a blend of in-person instruction from industry experts and online learning modules, complemented by regular assessments to monitor progress.

Students completing the program will be eligible for consideration in Ericsson’s Graduate Recruitment Program, enhancing their employability within the telecommunications sector.

Priyanka Anand, Vice President and Head of People for Southeast Asia, Oceania & India at Ericsson, emphasized the importance of collaboration between industry and academia in developing future telecom professionals. The program aims to provide students with relevant skills while contributing to the ongoing growth and competitiveness of the industry.
