Capgemini to Invest Rs 1,000 Crore in a New Facility in Chennai; Empowering Local Talent

Capgemini invests Rs. 1000 crore in a new 600,000 sq ft Chennai facility, creating 5,000 jobs, using renewable energy, and supporting local schools with Rs. 3 crore.

Capgemini, the French It and consulting company has announced to invest Rs. 1000 crore in a new facility in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The investment is to be made over the next three years and will culminate in the completion of the facility by April 2027.

The new campus spans nearly 600,000 square feet and is designed to accommodate 5,000 seats. The facility will be powered entirely by renewable energy sources, as it will feature advanced energy and water-efficient technologies, the use of recycled materials, and the implementation of rainwater harvesting.

The campus will house diverse specialist teams in financial services, engineering, digital cloud, AI and more empowering the local talent of the city. It will also boast state-of-the-art IT infrastructure, advanced engineering labs, customer experience centers, specialized onboarding rooms, wellness centers, etc within the new facility.

In addition, to foster a collaborative and engaging work environment, Capgemini has pledged approximately Rs 3 crore of the investment to the development of neighboring government schools. With this effort, Capgemini aims to support and empower local communities and demonstrate its dedication to enhancing the well-being of the regions in which it operates.
