Nitin Kunkolienker, president, MAIT

MAIT would like to thank the Government of India for allowing IT hardware manufacturing to continue as stated in the press release issued by MHA. This move was the need of the hour as all digital and communication highways are built using electronic and ICT products.

This was extremely essential as all utilities need these products otherwise imports would have catered to this pent up demand for ICT products estimated at 2.5 Bn USD per month.

MAIT had been urging the government to include manufacturing, sales, and servicing of ICT products, including mobile phones in essential services at a time when reliance on such products and services has increased due to the lockdown. We appreciate that the industry’s voice was heard and we thank the government on inclusion of the same.

Debjani Ghosh, NASSCOM

We are very glad to see the directive from the MoH today with clear guidelines on the opening up of the economy in a phased manner, with adequate safety measures in place. Nasscom has issued a Back to Work SOP to members and recommend 15-20% btw in phase 1.

Dr. Keshab Panda, CEO & MD, L&T Technology Services

We are taking a measured approach towards resuming office. We have prepared a post-lockdown resumption plan, according to which employees shall return to work in a phased manner. In the initial stage, we will ask a limited number of workforce, working on critical customer projects to report to work in office. Subsequently, more of our workforce will resume work in office after closely monitoring the overall situation in the following weeks.

Safety and security of the employees is of paramount importance. L&T Technology Services has implemented foolproof measures for its core team on the ground as well as for those who will re-join office after lockdown.

The underlying objective is to ensure uninterrupted business continuity for clients while ensuring highest levels of safety and well-being of our workforce.
