Octant Acquires ESHA
Octant Interactive Technologies, a leading interactive technology company, has
announced the acquisition of Esha News Monitoring Services, a specialist leader
in broadcast monitoring and analysis. Octant Interactive Technologies, primarily
engaged in the development of software solutions, has recently diversified into
interactive technology space with the development of intellectual property
rights and emergency healthcare services. Esha is a leader in providing
broadcast monitoring and analysis to corporate houses, governments, NGOs, and
researchers.
Cavium to Buy MontaVista Software
Cavium Networks, based in Mountain View, California, the United States, has
signed a definitive agreement to buy MontaVista Software, the vendor of embedded
Linux software, for a total of $50 mn in cash and stock. The deal is expected to
close in December 2009. According to the terms of the agreement, the company
will pay MontaVista Software $16 mn in cash, plus $34 mn in Caviums stocks. The
company intends to maintain MontaVista Software as a separate company, according
to Syed Ali, president and chief executive officer of Cavium Networks.
Accordingly, Cavium Networks shall maintain separate staff in engineering and
product-management departments as well as in sales.
