JioFiber Connection: Here’s Why the Services are Still not Available to Some Users

Despite the hype, JioFiber services are still not available to several users who claim to get no response when they contact officials for a new connection

JioFiber services, which may still be available under the preview offer, is something that has grabbed the attention of the country ever since its launch two years ago. JioFiber connection offers data at high speed along with various other features such as Jio 4K set-top box and Jio Holoboard, which has made several people across the country, want to opt for the services.

Nevertheless, not everyone who has invited the services has been able to lay their hands on the JioFiber connection, which is making them take to various public forums to state the same. “I have applied twice online but got no response from Jio. I also requested them to guide me to the nearest Jio outlet, but no response,” says Sandip Guha to DataQuest.

“I registered for a new connection (Jaipur) about two months back but there is no further development from Jio side. No one has reverted back to date,” says Arvind Arya from Rajasthan. The same has been communicated by various others on social media platforms like Twitter and Quora as well. This does raise the question of why JioFiber services are still not available for some consumers.

Why JioFiber Connection is Still not Available in Some Regions?

To users who ask the same question on Twitter, the official account of Jio Care has replied saying “JioFiber services are being rolled out in a phased manner, once we are ready to provide services at your address, our sales representative will contact you for further process.” However, the fact is that Reliance Jio is on a priority basis targeting Multiple Dwelling Units, like apartments or societies.

Reliance Jio is still seeking out to large societies and apartments to deploy the infrastructure needed for JioFiber services, under the Area Ready for Sale stage, wherein users are being approached by officials themselves. Reliance is also going for Single Dwelling Units or individual homes but the more the number of invites the JioFiber services get from a certain area, the more chances consumers have of getting the connection earlier.

“Jio Fiber folks approached our apartment association in 2019 January and on the approval of association they came in and wired the whole apartment complex and put their ONT Boxes. They started giving connections in Mid of June to our Apartment complex. Taking a connection happens in a breeze. You have to pay Rs 2500 as a refundable deposit and with your Aadhaar, E-KYC will be done in a minute - they will take your photo with their mobile and also the photo of Aadhaar card and upload the E-KYC. If you don't have a local Aadhaar, someone with a local Aadhaar would need to give their reference and Jio will do a tele verification later. You will get an email and an SMS confirmation and later an SMS with the time of arrival of a technician to do the last mile wiring and activation,” says Kalesh Kumar on Quora.

How Users can Register for JioFiber Connection?

Apart from logging onto Jio.com, new customers now have the option to send a WhatsApp message to register for the JioFiber Connection. Interested users will have to type and send “Hello” to 7000870008 on WhatsApp, and if JioFiber is available in that particular area, a Jio representative will get in touch with the sender of the message.
