When an incoming service expected to do a world of good is awaited, it doesn’t come without a few drawbacks. As fans eagerly await the full fledged commercial launch of the Jio GigaFiber and Jio DTH services, it seems like some shady elements are trying to use it to their advantage.
Recently, a user took to Twitter to bring to the notice of Reliance Jio of what he called a ‘fraud dealer’. “Dear Jio, I came across one fraud on the name of giving Jio DTH dealership,” said the user, while also stating that the so called ‘Jio DTH dealer’ was asking him to deposit a sum of Rs 25,000 along with his pan card, Aadhaar card and passport size photos. Jio Care promptly replied to this concern saying “We will get this sorted right away. Simply DM your Jio number and alternate contact number to assist you further”.
In fact, it isn’t just one user. Several others have written to Jio Care to state similar experiences. “I got a call for jio dth dealership and they are asking for applying and also asking for 25000 pre pay could you please confirm me this is fake or true ,can i go ahead to pay. please confirm asap” says another Twitter user to which Jio has replied saying “Thank you for highlighting this concern. We request you to ignore such calls/mails to avoid any future fraudulent incidents”.
Jio Care has also time and again replied to users on Twitter saying the Jio DTH service is currently unavailable and they would automatically notify all their valued customers should any Reliance products be released commercially. Therefore, it would be prudent for consumers to exercise caution before depositing any money or sharing any private details with the so called ‘dealers’ because it could be a scamster. Also, users could write to @JioCare on Twitter before making any such investments to identify if a dealer is genuine or fake.
Jio GigaFiber Being Rolled-out in a Phased Manner
As it has been nearly 4 months since Reliance Jio has announced the Jio GigaFiber and Jio DTH services, users are constantly looking for what lies ahead and when the services would be commercially available. To one such consumer’s query on when the services would actually be available, the official account of Jio Care has replied on Twitter saying that the JioGigaFiber services were being rolled out in a phased manner, and once the company was ready to provide services at the consumers’ address, Jio sales representative would contact them for further process.
Jio Care also stated that JioGigaFiber would empower users with ultra high speed Internet up to 100Mbps along with a host of online content at the most competitive prices. Although there is no word from Reliance Jio on the availability and commercial launch of the Jio GigaFiber and Jio DTH, as per a report on a video shared by BTVI news quoting sources on their official platform on Twitter, Reliance Jio GigaFiber may continue to be free till March and the company may also start rolling-out Jio Giga TV or Jio DTH by December 2018. These are again speculations and something that can be put to rest only when Reliance Jio makes an official announcement.
