The Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) a unit under the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has introduced a free certification course in Remote Sensing, Geographical Information System (GIS), and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technologies. What are the course modules?

Participants will have access to a wealth of course study materials including lecture PDFs, recorded video lectures, open-source software, and handouts of demonstrations. These materials will be available through the E-CLASS and ISRO Learning Management System.
The program is scheduled from 6 November 2023 to 17 November 2023. And, the registrations for the course began on 16 October 2023 and will remain open until 3 November 2023.
How to participate in the course?
Individuals who are interested in participating in the course can either register individually or through their respective nodal centers. The application deadline is 3 November 2023.
Here individuals will receive automatic approval upon registration and a “Course Participation” certificate will be awarded to those who will dedicate at least 70% of the total session hours to the course. The training program will be conducted through live online sessions on the IIRS YouTube channel, with daily sessions held from 16:00 to 1:30 Indian Standard Time(IST).
Whereas, for participants registered through nodal centers, the nodal center coordinators must approve their registration. Participants meeting the minimum 70% attendance requirement will be eligible for an online examination, with successful candidates receiving a “Course Completion” certificate.
Participants are encouraged to follow the course guidelines and actively participate in discussions, video logs, and course feedback submissions.
How many seats are available?
The course offers 10,000 seats for the entire comprehensive course and an additional 5,000 seats for individual modules. Apart from that, nodal center coordinators are allotted 25 seats for each course.
