Intellect Design Arena, a Polaris Group company, has launched Unmail, an enterprise social network, which is aimed at addressing the prime issue of fragmented communication. The company which is focused on digitally enabling corporations, believes that the Enterprise Social Network (ESN) market is a huge market opportunity, which is waiting to be tapped.
"We are just scratching the surface of what is undoubtedly going to be a must have technology for all enterprises," states Shashi Mohan, CIO & CTO, Intellect Design Arena. The Global ESN market is huge, with market analyst firms such as Market Watch forecasting the market to grow from $4.77 billion in 2014 to $8.14 billion in 2019.
Shashi Mohan says that over a period of time, enterprise workflows tend to become rigid, which hinders organizational productivity. "With Unmail, we are seeking to empower organizations with the ability to provide conversational social workflows. By adding workflow actions to conversations and adding simple forms, we convert processes to conversations, which in turn, helps in speeding up decisions."
With features such as document sharing capabilities and ability to collaborate socially internally, Unmail can have a direct impact on productivity addressing various enterprise pain points. The product consists of social apps, which allow centralization of team correspondence, managing and tracking of teams, analytics, Knowledge Repository, etc from a single workspace. The software is available on the Internet, Mobile (iOS, Android, BlackBerry) and tablets. In addition to conversations within teams, social conversational workflows allow an organization to streamline enterprise processes with an end-to-end traceability and ease of use. Unmail provides a one-stop shop for managing, tracking, analyzing and monitoring all execution aspects of a team by way of default apps for milestones, review MOMs, action items, achievements / concerns and questionnaire based efficiency quotients.
The ESN platform also has the capability to segregate notifications as work-based updates, global enterprise announcements, informal networking updates, knowledge based updates, social circles updates, site level updates, etc., resulting in better consumption of various information floods that result with a use of ESN.
Proven internally
The biggest advantage for Unmail is that it has been proven internally in Polaris Consulting and Services. More than 12,000 employees across different geographies use this platform. At Polaris, the usage of Octopus (the internal name for its ESN), has helped it reduce the onboarding time by a significant 75 percent.
Business benefits have been many. Support calls have reduced by 32 percent, while workflow processing has been reduced by 20 percent. Attrition rates have reduced by 30%. Time taken for checking of emails internally has reduced by a significant 74%, which leads to time savings of close to 1.3 million hours.
Intellect Design Arena wants to position Unmail as a productivity enhancer, and has already done a few pilots in some companies. While Intellect Arena enjoys a distinct advantage in the financial services domain, Shashi Mohan says that the opportunity is huge in every industry, as the platform is industry agnostic. The solution is currently offered in an on-premise model, and will be offered via a cloud model in the next few months.
