John Gikopoulos, who was earlier associated with IPsoft, has been appointed as Infosys’ Global Head for Artificial Intelligence and Automation, as Infosys seeks to expand its business related to the two technologies. John Gikopoulos joined Infosys in July 2018 and has vast experience in AI and automation.
It is mentioned on John Gikopoulos’ LinkedIn page that he helped establish Ipsofts’s Cognitive unit in Europe with more than 100 employees from the beginning and led the development of advanced artificial intelligence solutions covering end to end use case across functions.
Earlier this year Infosys was named a leader in applications management and digital operations services by an independent research firm. “Emerging technologies like AI, automation, cognitive computing and machine learning are transforming the IT ecosystem like never before. With this rapid change, it has become imperative for every organization to adopt digitization to deliver enhanced value for its clients," Ravi Kumar S, President and Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Infosys, had said at the time. So, appointing an AI and automation expert like John Gikopoulos can be viewed as taking a step towards Infosys' digital transformation strategy.
