The warning has stemmed from the identification of multiple vulnerabilities across iOS, macOS, tvOS, WatchOS, and Safari posing potential threats to user data security.

Who is at risk?

The advisory issued by CERT-IN highlights several vulnerabilities within Apple’s ecosystem that could expose users to security breaches. These include risks such as

As per the advisory, all Apple devices running specific versions of tvOS, iOS, macOS, and WatchOS are susceptible to these vulnerabilities. The users of devices running on the following versions are urged to be particularly vigilant:

  • iPhones running iOS versions predating iOS 17.2 and 16.7.3.
  • iPads operating on iPadOS 17.2 and 16.7.3.
  • Macs with Sonoma versions before 14.2, Ventura versions before 13.6.3, and Monterey versions before 12.7.2.
  • Apple TV devices using tvOS version 17.2 and earlier.
  • Apple Watches operates on WatchOS version 10.2.
  • Safari browser versions preceding 17.2.
