The Indian Army has released a notification for its 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme- 51(TES) course starting from July 2024. The scheme offers an opportunity to unmarried male candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) subjects and have appeared in the JEE (Mains) 2023 examination to join under the Permanent Commission.
Currently, there are 90 provisional vacancies for this course which is subject to change based on the training capacity at the Cadets Training Wings.
What are the eligibility criteria for Army technical entry?
The individuals who are interested in joining the Indian army through the technical entry scheme will be subjected to some eligibility criteria that include
Nationality
- Indian Citizen
- Subject of Bhutan, Nepal, and Tibetan refugees who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanent settlement.
- A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Age Limit
- Applicants must be between 16.5 and 19.5 years old on the first day of the month when the course begins (that is between 2 July 2004 and 1 July 2007).
Educational Qualification
- Candidates should have passed the 10+2 examination or its equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in PCM from recognized education boards.
- They must have appeared in the JEE (Mains) 2023 examination.
Apart from the above-mentioned eligibility, candidates must meet the medical standards and physical criteria specified for officers' entry into the Army. Detailed information regarding the physical standards can be found on the official website of the Indian Army.
