Foodpanda Partners with The Akshaya Patra Foundation to Support the Mid-Day Meal Scheme

Foodpanda, the online marketplace for food delivery announced its partnership with The Akshaya Patra Foundation, the leading not-for-profit organisation that implements the Mid-Day Meal Scheme in government and government-aided schools in the country. As part of this association, Foodpanda users will be able to donate raw materials to the foundation and contribute in their mission of eliminating hunger. Through this initiative, Foodpanda aims to create an impact of 1 million meals in the next 6 months.

As the next steps to this partnership, Foodpanda will register with The Akshaya Patra Foundation approved partners through which users will be able to buy and donate raw materials such as pulses and spices. At the end of every month, the raw materials that users donate will go directly to Akshaya Patra funds that will be used to provide mid-day meals to over 14,000 partner schools in India. The platform will be open for donations in the next couple of weeks. In the next wave of this campaign, Foodpanda also aims to bring their restaurant partners onboard to actively contribute to the cause.

On the association,  Anshul Khandelwal, Head of Marketing, Foodpanda says, “Being a food tech company, we have the capacity to reach a significant number of users digitally through our platform. Through partnerships like this, we intend to leverage the platform and support endeavours in the direction of hunger eradication in the country.
