Pioneer is creating the future of mobility experiences. It has a mission of move the heart and touch the soul. Founded in 1938, Pioneer is an 86-year old company in the automotive sector. Nozomu Matsumoto was the founder of Pioneer. It has also moved to mobile entertainment.

In 1990, Pioneer had introduced the GPS car navigation system. Today, Pioneer is driving autonomous driving. They have a lot of work ahead of them.

Ken Takagi, MD, Pioneer India, said the word 'new' is very important to them. Today, Pioneer is worth $1.6 billion in the automotive electronics group, with 7,600 employees worldwide. It is in the businesses of automotive OEM, sound, aftermarket, and automotive enterprise. 

From India, Pioneer has Maruti, Toyota, and Mahindra as customers. In India, it has the domestic sales and R&D center. We are in in-car sound and display solutions, IVI and digital cockpit solutions, adaptive HMI powered by AI engines, etc. Pioneer India was established in 2008. The R&D center was established n 2023. Today, we have 3,000+ dealers in 469 cities.

Localizing strategy
Aniket Kulkarni, new MD, Pioneer India, said we have localized the strategy in India. We are now looking at talent, OEMs, partners, and customers. We are also looking at Make in India. OEM business as a category presents different challenges. We are also in the infotainment business, and will be expanding the R&D team. We have two set ups -- in Gurgaon and Bangalore. 

In manufacturing, we will try and partner with manufacturing experts from different domains. We will look at products tailored for targeting key local requirements.

Dr. Siva Subramanian, Global CEO, Mobility AI and Connectivity Division, noted that he loved cars. Indians also love cars. India is now the third largest automotive market in the world today. India's road network is second-largest in the world. It has the fastest growth in the top five auto markets.

Four dashcams introduced
Introducing the dashcam lineup, Manish Bhasin, VP, Product & Innovation R&D, said the H120SC is the most compact camera, with built-in Wi-Fi and mobile app. It is very small, and can be hidden behind the rear-view mirror. It is priced Rs. 5,399.

The VREC-H320SC comes with 3-inch IPS display, GPS logging, 139-degree field-of-view, etc. It has ADAS alerts, and halo reduction. It is priced at Rs. 11,399.

The VREC-H520DC is part of the premium range. It has 2K (QHD) resolution, Sony Starvis 2, 3-inch IPS display, GPS, 140-degree field-of-view, ADAS alerts, etc. It is priced at Rs. 18,499.

The last one is VREC-Z820DC. It has 4K (ultra HD) resolution with HDR, Sony Starvis, GPS, 139-degree field-of-view, AI night vision, ADAS alerts, etc. It will be released later this year. 

All of these products are accompanied by mobile apps. They are designed to withstand the Indian conditions. The Pioneer dashcam app can aid in quick setup and manage your recordings.
