Twitter has hired Emily Horne as its new Communications Director on June 07, 2017. The announcement was made by Kristin Binns, Senior Director of Comms, Twitter. She is expected to join Twitter from June 19, and would be leading as the Global Policy Communications Director.
Kristin Binns was quoted as saying on Twitter, “Excited to announce that Emily Horne is joining our team to lead Global Policy Communications for Twitter”. Horne would be reporting to Kristin Binns, Senior Director of Communications, Twitter.
Emily Horne will be taking over and managing the workings of Global Communications, Corporate, Revenue and Policy Communications. Horne will look after Twitter's messaging and communications for all things related to Twitter policy, including issues of abuse, hate speech and user privacy.
Erstwhile, Horne was a spokesperson for the White House under President Barack Obama and National Security Council on Foreign Policy Issues where she served as Assistant Press Secretary and Director of Strategic Communications for NSC. She was responsible for messaging, media relations, crisis and strategic communication in the role, according to Twitter. Horne was also the Chief Spokesperson on various issues involving counter terrorism and hostages, human rights, the Middle East and North Africa.
