The world is grappling with extreme temperatures. India, USA, Canada have also reported rising temperatures and the horrendous consequences due to it. The United Arab Emirates has been no exception to the heat and scientists in the region have discovered a unique way to bring some relief with artificial rain.

Drones were used to shock the clouds with electricity to bring relief as temperatures in UAE reached close to 50C. The method is also known as cloud seeding. The drones release electrical charge into the clouds thereby acting as a catalyst for the clouds to coalesce and create rain.
The technology proved successful as the National Centre of Meteorology recorded videos of the heavy rainfall in the region, which later went viral on social media. In the coming days, the methodology will become quite common as drier regions like UAE, receiving only 10cm of rainfall a year will use it to mitigate drought.
