The Directorate General of Training(DGT) operating under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship(MSDE) has forged a strategic collaboration with Amazon Web Services(AWS) India to equip India's workforce with cutting-edge skills. The joint initiative is a progressive move aimed toward offering skilling programs focused on emerging technologies. When we talk about emerging technologies it includes
- Cloud computing
- Data annotation
- Artificial Intelligence(AI)
- Machine Learning (ML)
The collaboration aims to empower students with in-demand skills and boost their employability in the rapidly evolving digital world.
"We are making training on high-demand, emerging technologies available to students, opening up new opportunities for them, and enhancing their employability. Through this initiative with AWS, we are happy that students from ITIs and NSTIs can gain in-demand skills and hands-on experience in important areas such as cloud computing, data annotation, AI, and ML. The support AWS will provide to train the faculty in these technologies will be valuable and empower them to deliver better learning outcomes," stated Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary of MSDE, expressing his enthusiasm for the initiative.
Who will be benefitted from the alliance?
The partnership between DGT and AWS INida is specifically designed to benefit students who are enrolled in Industrial Training Institutes(ITIs) and National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs) across India. These institutions play a crucial role in providing vocational training to a pool of aspiring professional workforce.
What will be offered by the alliance?
In this alliance, AWS will be offering self-paced online learning programs in emerging technologies for free. The comprehensive and insightful content will be accessible through the DGT's dedicated platform Bharat Skills. The platform is a central repository that provides up-to-date curricula, digital content, and learning videos for courses falling under the Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) and Crafts Instructor Training Scheme (CITS).
Conclusion
The partnership between DGT and AWS India can be seen as a testament to India's commitment to building a future-ready workforce by providing students with essential skills in emerging technologies. The collaboration is believed to enhance India's digital capabilities and bring a rise in India's position as a global technology leader.
