Set up in 1960, DDE ORG, the brainchild of Vikram
Sarabai, was created to expedite a sci-entific approach to collect and scrutinize information for supporting and optimizing business operations. The Baroda-based organization offers solutions in the areas of dairy management, maintenance, integrated telecom operations, bank automation and GIS and has a software development unit at STP Bangalore. During its first year of operation, ORG Systems made its first indigenous computer–ORG 2001. In 1986, ORG Systems signed an agreement with Dansk Data Elektronik A/S (DDE) of Denmark to manufacture and market its Unix Supermax systems and for transfer of information systems. After a successful eight year interaction in 1994, ORG Systems and DDE decided to further strengthen their ties and formed a JV company DDE ORG System Ltd, alongside IFU (Industrialization Fund for Developing Countries) of Denmark.
In the last two decades, DDE ORG has commissioned successful IT projects not only for these segments but also for some others like airlines, banking, insurance, manufacturing and race clubs. And in order to attain its goal of providing perfect, cost-effective products and solutions to its customers in all areas of IT, DDE ORG has forged strategic alliances with a host of international leaders like Compaq, IBM, Oracle, SCO and Siemens Nixdorf. Today DDE ORG markets and supports systems, system software, networking, services, domestic and export software.
DDE ORG’s turnover for the fiscal 1998-99 was Rs369.12 million while the gross profit was Rs15.85 million. But with the dawn of the new millennium it is only optimistic about its growth prospects.
