CBSE, in a bid to help teachers who are facing disruption in education due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, has launched a free online teacher training certificate program that can be taken by educators. The Central Board of Secondary Education says that this move will ensure the enhancement of professional development through digital means.
“Technology-enabled teacher development programs/training can take a very wide variety of forms, with concomitant advantages of convenience, scalability, and adaptability. Accordingly, CBSE conceptualized Technology-enabled Teachers training on a pilot basis from the 3rd week of April 2020 and conducted 500+ free-online training sessions by 15 CBSE–COEs. More than 35,000 Teachers and Principals from various parts of the country and abroad participated in these programs,” said a statement from CBSE.
