Aruna Sundararajan, secretary, Dept of Telecom, and Chairperson, Telecom Commission who had recently stated that 4 telecom operators will be a good number for Indian market and consumers, will be speaking at the Telecom Leadership Forum 2017 (TLF), a telecom conference in Delhi on 14th December. “In highly dynamic market, niche and specialised players will emerge to serve the new and changing needs of customers", she had added.

The 17 edition of India's oldest conference for telecom ecosystem partners will see over 200 senior telecom professionals from across the country converging to meet, discuss, and explore new and emerging business models, technology options, revenue streams and changing customer expectations. According to Pardeep Gupta, CMD, CyberMedia, the conference organise, "The objective of TLF is is to help telecom leaders grow their business with better and newer services."

The theme this year is Digital Telecom For Digital India, and the deliberations and discussions will therefore focus around how is the Indian telecom ecosystem re-defining itself for meeting the Government's vision of a $4 trillion digital economy by 2022; and a rapidly changing profile and needs of a digital society ? What will it take to meet the requirements, expectations and challenges of the new India which is about video, data, services, and most importantly customer experience. And how technologies like network IPfication, Cloud, LTE, IoT, broadband, and 5G could turn challenges into opportunities. Customer delight will be the only mantra for success, as telcos consolidate, upgrade, and get more competitive.

The Session 1 is The Year Ahead : Key business, technology and regulatory challenges that the telecom sector is likely to face as the nation moves ahead on it's Digital India march.
Session 2 is Building A Digital India : What do various telecom stake-holders need to focus on to build a digital India ? How are operators and the Telco ecosystem making the best out of all the business disruptions India is witnessing. And how are technologies like network IPfication, network function virtualization and SDN being deployed and leveraged for revenue maximization as well as customer empowerment and delight.
The Session 3 will be on Smart India - Smart Life, Smart Govt & Smart Enterprises : How are operators and the telco ecosystem working on challenges and solutions for speeding up broadband infrastructure roll-out and its quality. And how fiber will be the back-bone.
The Session 4 will cover 5G-Tranforming Aspirations into Reality : How the high speed 5G will transform the current 4G network, sevices delivery and customer experience. How will it speed up IoT, and a range of new emerging valued added services for transport, healthcare, security, education, and energy sectors, to name some.
The Session 5 will focus on Beyond the Consumer Market : How telcos and other communications service providers can help organizations to integrate customers, partners, and employees to increase revenue, decrease operating costs for the big and growing enterprise market ? How sectors like BFSI, IT/ITeS, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Educations, Govt etc are getting more agile and customer centric with solutions such as collaboration, infra & services on tap, cloud, & managed solutions.
The Session 6 will be on Defining the Skills Manifesto for Telecom 2022 : For an industry in the throes of rapid change, the importance of skills, both generic and specialist, cannot be overemphasized. How do we plan for the skills and competencies required by the telecom industry in the next 4 years? Leading industry leaders will be speaking in the various sessions. The Voice&Data Telecom Leadership Awards including Telecom Person of the Year, Telecom CTO of the Year, and Lifetime Contribution, will also be presented on this occasion.
