Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) announced the expansion of its newly launched Corporate Solutions practice with the appointment of Malay Shah as a Senior Director. Shah will play a pivotal role in spearheading the practice’s high-tech sector and digital transformation offerings for A&M India.
Shah brings more than 16 years of experience in global management consulting, strategy and planning. His expertise in areas of go-to-market (GTM) strategy, cost optimization and digital transformation align with A&M India’s Corporate Solutions practice and enhance the firm’s ability to meet the operational and investment needs of Indian corporates by focusing on sales and revenue enhancement, supply chain management and digital transformation.

Prior to joining A&M, Shah spent 13 years with global management consulting firms including Ernst & Young (EY), Infosys Consulting Inc. and McKinsey. He began his career with McKinsey's high-tech practice and spent five years in the U.S. advising global technology companies. Mr. Shah also led the management consulting division of Infosys for the India market focusing on digital transformation across retail, healthcare and industrial sectors.
Most recently he served as a Director with EY advising high-tech companies on how to penetrate new market segments and improve their position in existing markets. Shah also led the central planning team at a $6 bn renewables company where he was responsible for corporate strategy, driving business unit performance, management and supply chain transformation programs.
Shah earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Gujarat University and a post graduate diploma in business management (PGDBM) from Sydenham Institute of Management in Mumbai. He works closely with industry bodies such as IESA (India Electronics and Semiconductor Association), CEAMA (Consumer Electronics & Appliances Manufacturer Association), FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry), CII (Confederation of Indian Industries) and ASSOCHAM (The Associated Chambers of Commerce of India).
