AICTE Saksham scholarship has been announced for the year 2021-22 and applications have been invited from specially-abled students pursuing their degree or diploma from any of the AICTE approved Institutions of the respective year. Saksham is an MHRD Scheme being implemented by The All India Council of Technical Education aimed at providing encouragement and support to specially-abled children to pursue technical education.

The candidate should be admitted to the first year of degree level course or second year of degree level course through lateral entry at any of the AICTE approved Institutions. Those selected will be paid a yearly scholarship amount of Rs 50,000 for every year of study which is a maximum of 3 years for first-year admitted students and a maximum of 2 years for the second year admitted students through lateral entry for diploma students. In the case of students pursuing their technical degrees, those selected will be paid a yearly scholarship amount of Rs 50,000 for every year of study which is a maximum of 4 years for first-year admitted students and a maximum of 3 years for the second year admitted students through lateral entry.

Important Details of the AICTE Saksham Scholarship

Students who wish to apply for this scholarship need to keep in mind the following important points with regard to the scheme:

  • The specially-abled student having a disability of not less than 40% can apply.
  • The family income from all sources should not be more than Rs 8 lakh per annum during the current financial year, and a valid income certificate issued by State or UT Government needs to be enclosed in the online application.
  • All eligible specially-abled students admitted to the first year of degree level course or second year of degree level course through lateral entry in any of the AICTE approved institutions will get the scholarship.
  • The candidate fulfilling the eligibility conditions needs to apply online on National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
  • The host institution where the candidate is studying, required to verify the online application and the Department of Technical Education (DTE) of the respective State or UT will verify the applications as the second level of scrutiny.
  • Incomplete applications will be rejected, and only verified online applications will be considered for the award of scholarship.
  • The grant of scholarship is subject to the condition that the student does not receive any financial assistance in the shape of scholarship or any emoluments, salary, or stipend from any other source during their course of study in the Institute.
