The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), and Bajaj Finserv have joined forces to introduce a specialized certificate program in banking, finance, and insurance for young graduates. It is a groundbreaking initiative forged by these organizations to enhance skill development and employability.
The comprehensive program that was introduced is designed to meet the evolving demands of the banking, finance, and insurance sectors. It will be initially rolled out in 10 districts of Odisha. And, the graduates completing the program will receive a joint certification accredited by Bajaj Finserv and Skill India opening doors to promising career opportunities in these dynamic industries.
In terms of formalizing this collaboration, two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between the National Skill Development Corporation, Bajaj Finserv, and AICTE. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship who underscored the critical role of skill development in today’s competitive job market. Minister Pradhan also emphasized that a mere degree is no longer sufficient and stressed the need for a robust foundation of knowledge, competencies, skills, and the right attitude to drive India’s progress.
The 100-hour program has been meticulously designed in collaboration with industry experts, training partners, educational institutions, and psychological health institutes. It aims to provide participants with a holistic understanding of the banking, finance, and insurance sectors, preparing them for successful careers in these fields.
The collaboration between AICTE, NSDC, and Bajaj Finserv represents a significant stride toward bridging the skill gap in the banking, finance, and insurance sectors. This program seeks to empower them to contribute meaningfully to India’s economic growth and development by equipping young graduates with industry-relevant knowledge and skills.
This initiative aligns with the broader national goals to foster a skilled workforce capable of meeting the challenges of a rapidly evolving economic landscape. The program’s expansion from the initial 10 districts of Odisha to a nationwide reach reflects the commitment to provide quality education and skill development opportunities to a larger demographic, ultimately contributing to the nation’s prosperity.
