AICTE Doctoral Fellowship is offering 339 scholarships in select affiliated institutions approved by the All India Council of Technical Education. Selected students will receive the scholarship for three years, which may be extended for another year. Scholars who receive the AICTE Doctoral Fellowship will be eligible to receive stipends of Rs 31,000 for the first two years, and Rs 35,000 for the third year on a monthly basis.
The number of scholars selected per institute will be 3 to 18, and candidates must have secured a minimum CGPA of 7.5 on the scale of 10 or minimum 75% marks or equivalent at both Bachelors and Masters. Apart from this, the candidate should have also qualified GATE or NET during the last 5 years. Candidates selected for the AICTE Doctoral Fellowship must get registered for PhD within one year of the award of the fellowship.
AICTE Doctoral Fellowship Research Areas
Selected candidates can opt for research in the following areas in their respective technical institutions: Green technologies, big data, machine learning and data sciences, blockchain, artificial intelligence, energy production and storage, electronics and photonics, nuclear engineering and allied technologies, robotics and mechatronics, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR), energy efficiency, renewable and sustainable energy, electric and hybrid mobility, smart cities, housing and transportation, internet of things (IoT), 3D printing, quantum computing and so on.
Eligibility Criteria for the Award of AICTE Doctoral Fellowship
- The fellowship will be granted to research scholars admitted to the technical universities listed by AICTE in the identified thrust areas of the scheme.
- Technical universities may enroll students in their research programmes based on the eligibility criteria prescribed by AICTE.
- The candidates should be less than 30 years of age. However, age relaxation of 5 years has been allowed for certain candidates.
