The 31st iteration of the Dataquest ICT Awards represents a significant milestone in acknowledging outstanding achievements and contributions across various domains, reflecting the evolution and expansion of the industry. Year after year, these awards spotlight trailblazers, innovators, and visionaries who have propelled technology forward and driven digital transformation.

This year’s recipient of the Dataquest “IT Person of the Year” award is Rajeev Chandrashekhar, the Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology. His recognition underscores his instrumental role in strengthening India’s position not only in the IT sector but also in electronics.

In 2023, Chandrashekhar spearheaded key initiatives to fortify India’s digital infrastructure, including the formulation and passage of the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, a landmark legislation to ensure digital privacy and security for Indian citizens. His efforts also focused on promoting electronics manufacturing and expanding India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) framework to offer global digital solutions.

Raman Roy, Chairman and Managing Director of Quatrro BPO Solutions, and Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder of Cyient, were awarded the “Lifetime Achievement Award” in recognition of their significant contributions to the industry.

Raman Roy, often called the “Father of the Indian BPO Industry,” has been instrumental in shaping the global outsourcing landscape, showcasing India’s capabilities in back-office and BPO services.

Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy, through the establishment of Cyient in 1991, has made substantial contributions to the global engineering, research, and development (ER&D) services landscape, propelling the company to contribute over $5 billion in cumulative exports from India.
